I am overly excited to be presenting ¨The Narinan Cookbook¨. Those of you who have come aboard know that this idea had long been around the ship. That's why at last one day we organized the book's journey. A year and a half ago I embarked on an adventure from Barcelona to the island of Cabrera with a crew, which would help me to prepare all the recipes, but that above all has accompanied me on a longer, riskier and more complex journey, that of the elaboration of the book.
Coke and Robbie are the Narinan's most accomplice and obvious photographer and editor. Both are also sailors of the ship. Vincenzo had written the most beautiful words about the project in El Dorado, he would do the book's prologue. Cris had to see dolphins and she would come with the video camera and his special universe to capture Narinan´s cooking in motion.
Later on the season Maria embarked, to draw life at sea. Also Aitor, to live in first person the world in which the images of the beautiful video he has edited, had been filmed.
The plan was to cook all the recipes along a journey to some nice and quiet Mediterranean corner. We had to take pictures of the meals, their ingredients, film the nice things you see from the boat. The journey lasted ten days, surrounded by nature, in which between plate and plate we sailed, swum and walked through the countryside. It was a true Narinan trip, thanks to which I was able to collect the information to write the book. But above all it was a navigation in which Coke captured and immortalized the soul of the ship. In the book you will find all the recipes explained in all kinds of details. But thanks to the photos I think you will also relive, or discover, the essence of life aboard Narinan, or simple life at sea.
The last part of the book is dedicated to the Cabrera archipelago. Favourite place, happiness. With pictures of Alba Yruela, Coke and me. Beautiful images - or at least very special to me - that we never publish before. They are photos that have rested for years, with the same calm that it transmits and that evokes the island.
As many of you know, the Narinan project, as we have known it so far, stopped indefinitely last February. From that moment on, the cookbook took on special importance. It's a tribute to these ten years together. A celebration of what we have learned or enjoyed each of the people we have navigated in it. It is also a piece of the boat, for everyone who for any reason could not join the boat.

Estoy muy emocionado por poder presentar el “Libro de Cocina Narinan”. Los que habéis venido a navegar a bordo sabéis que hacía tiempo que esta idea rondaba por el barco. Por eso al fin un día organizamos el viaje del libro. Hace un año y medio me embarqué en una aventura desde Barcelona a la isla de Cabrera con una tripulación, que me ayudaría esos días a preparar todos los platos, pero que sobretodo me ha acompañado en una travesía más larga, arriesgada y compleja, la de la elaboración del libro.
Coke y Robbie son el fotógrafo y editor más cómplices y evidentes del Narinan. Ambos son también marineros del barco. Vincenzo había escrito las palabras más bonitas sobre el proyecto en El Dorado, y haría el prólogo del libro. A Cris le debía ver delfines y vendría con la cámara de video y su universo especial para plasmar la cocina en movimiento.
En otro momento embarcó María, para dibujar la vida en el mar. También Aitor, para vivir en primera persona el mundo en el que se filmaron las imágenes con las que nos ha montado este precioso video.
El plan era cocinar todas las recetas a lo largo de una travesía hacia algún rincón bonito y tranquilo. Había que hacer las fotos de las comidas, de sus ingredientes, filmar las cosas bonitas que se ven desde el barco. El periplo duró diez días. Diez singladuras preciosas rodeados de naturaleza, en los que entre plato y plato navegamos, nadamos y paseamos por el campo. Fue un viaje del Narinan en toda regla, gracias al que pude recopilar la información para escribir el libro. Pero sobretodo fue una navegación en la que Coke capturó e inmortalizó el alma del barco. En el libro encontraréis todas las recetas explicadas con todo tipo de detalles. Pero gracias a las fotos creo que también reviviréis, -o descubriréis- la esencia de la vida a bordo del Narinan, o de la vida simple en el mar.
La última parte del libro es una dedicatoria al archipiélago de Cabrera. Lugar favorito, la felicidad. Con fotos de Alba Yruela, de Coke y mías. Imágenes preciosas -o por lo menos muy especiales para mí- que nunca publicamos en ningún lugar. Son fotos que han reposado durante años, con la misma calma que transmite y que evoca la isla.
Cómo muchos sabéis, el proyecto Narinan tal y cómo lo hemos conocido hasta ahora, se paró indefinidamente el pasado mes de febrero. Desde ese momento el libro de cocina cogió una importancia especial. Es un homenaje a estos diez años juntos. Una celebración de lo que hemos aprendido o disfrutado cada una de las personas que hemos navegado en él. También es un trozo del barco, para todas las personas que por cualquier motivo no pudieron venir.
